New York DMV Permit Test Prep ("the app") is a study tool for the New York State learner permit written test, published by Talnir Apps (talnirapps@gmail.com). The app is an independent study aid: it is not the official exam and it is not affiliated with or endorsed by the New York State Department of Motor Vehicles or any government body.
The app has no user accounts. Your practice progress, test scores and settings are stored only on your device. Deleting the app deletes this data. We do not collect, receive or sell any of it.
The app includes an optional assistant you can ask about the New York permit test. Questions you type are sent to our server and processed by an AI language-model provider solely to generate the reply. Please do not include personal information in your questions — the assistant does not need any, and questions are not linked to your identity or used for advertising.
The optional one-time unlock is processed entirely by Apple through your App Store account. We never see or store your payment details.
The free version shows ads served by Google AdMob. Where consent regulations apply (e.g. EEA/UK), a consent form is shown on first launch and your choices are respected. On iOS, personalised ads additionally require your permission via App Tracking Transparency; if you decline, ads remain non-personalised and the app works exactly the same. The one-time unlock removes ads entirely.
To serve and measure ads, Google may process device information such as advertising identifiers, IP address and approximate location. See Google's privacy policy and how Google uses ad data.
The app is a study aid for a driving credential and is not directed at children under 13. It does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
